"Thank You Note" Simple but Always Been Overlooked!

Many of us think that writing a "Thank You Note" for your Interviewer is not important. This is not really a common practice among job seekers in Malaysia; maybe because of no knowledge about that or they didn't see the important of doing it.

Making your Own "Thank You Note"

By delivering a thank you note to you interviewer, it will make you different and more outstanding compare to other candidates. It will make you more outstanding than others by giving you a personal touch through your Thank You Note. (Even better if you write it by your own hand-writing).
  1. Get a small card, but make sure no flowery or cartoon on the card, but choose something look professional and easy-to-keep (maybe 4" x 6")
  2. Write your interviewer/recruiter's name. Example, Dear Mr. Danial.....
  3. Write your appreciation note. Example, Thank you for the opportunity and looking forward for your further advise regards my application for position of Credit Controller.
  4. Your signature.
As simple as that, you will give an additional impact to the job interview attended by you.

One of my candidate used to brought me a pack of
McDonald breakfast  prior to her interview session.
I disagree with the idea. How if I didn't eat fast food
or how if I have some allergy with some of the food
ingredients? Recruiter sometimes will try to figure
out about what is the meaning behind the gift
given by the candidate.
How to Write a "Thank You Letter"

Optionally, you may write a Thank Letter, which is more formal with certain format. Click here for one of the good example of Thanks Letter.

My experience, I used to conduct one interview for the position of Personal Assistant and one of my candidate brought me a McDonald Breakfast set prior to the interview session.
How about that?

I personally disagree about the idea of giving present, foods or flowers to your interviewers or recruiters. This can be very intimidating, and if your interviewer not comfortable with it, your chances to get hired also became lower.

SO, NO FOODS! NO FLOWERS! NO CHOCOLATES FOR YOUR RECRUITERS... BUT
BUT GIVE THEM A THANK YOU NOTE!
